The active ingredient in Quest is Moxidectin. It is effective against roundworms or ascarids, pinworms, large strongyles small strongyles, hairworms, stomach worms, and bots. This is the only dewormer that kills dangerous encysted strongyles before they emerge. It is very important with this product that the correct dosage be administered to the animal.
Because QUEST has the longest strongyle egg suppression claim of any dewormer –- 84 days – you only need to use it once every 3 months in adult horses. QUEST has been shown to suppress strongyle egg production up to twice as long as ivermectin (Zimecterin®, Equimectrin™).
QUEST is a gel and dissolves rapidly in the horse’s mouth. This minimizes head-tossing and greatly reduces spit-out associated with paste dewormers. Coupling the gel formulation with the QUEST Sure-Dial syringe makes it easy to give your horse an accurate dose.
Horse owners need to completely read and follow all accompanying directions for all drugs they administer to their animals. The label directions clearly state QUEST should not be given to foals less than six months of age. Weight measurements should be accurately determined to ensure the correct dose of QUEST is administered
